Here she is in her finery, my second slip-cover. It turned out a little better than the first one and it did not take nearly as long to make it.

The first one took about 18 hours, this one took about 9 hours all together.
Then I made the little vintage inspired pillows, that fabric is so 60's, it just kills me to look at it. I can see it in my minds eye on a chair much like this one, only the pillow and the chair are in rust colors and I can faintly smell stale smoke. A family friends home, obviously, not ours.
I love it, though, it is so retro.
I'm so happy to be finished with it.
I have also finished several other smaller projects, they will give me something to blog about over the next couple of weeks.
I feel like my little cottage is finally coming together, it's looking like I have envisioned it, for so long.
Finding new colors and painting the walls was the biggest challenge. I'm very happy with all of the changes in the living room, a new paint job, the fireplace, the rug and the slip-covers. Next comes the mantel, I won't be doing that, my husband will be, I will be waiting on him for that.
If you feel inspired to make slip-covers for the first time, I would advise you to go to Miss Mustard Seed's blog and watch her entire series starting here:

I cannot imagine what I would have done if I had not done that. There are six parts and they are so very helpful.
Thank you so much for coming by, like many of you we still have Winter weather. They say when you're handed a lemon, make lemon-aid, so when I'm handed Winter weather, I will go skating! I'm hoping to do that now that I've completed my slip-covers.
Have a great day and thank you for coming by, my friends,
Cindy
Such a happy little pair of chairs, now.

You have the patience of Job! But oh my! It really paid off. The slip covered chairs are gorgeous! This is just a thought but have you ever thought about putting a big tall mirror over your fireplace? It would look so grand! I absolutely love the arch opening on your fireplace and could see a big arched mirror above it. You have done so many wonderful things to your home, it looks brand new. Amazing!
Wow I love how it turned out!! I love the snap of color the pillows provide too! IT all looks so lovely--nice transformation.
Cindy, Thank you for visiting my blog yesterday! Make sure you try the gnocchi dish
I am beyond impressed with your slipcovers! I am taking the easy route and buying one from PB.

Miss Mustard Seed is great! It really helps to see a video of how it's all done. I could never understand the process when it was just a written tutorial.
Wow, I can't believe the transformation that has taken place in this room in such a short time! I liked it before, but now it is so much fresher and cozier looking.
I look forward to seeing what else you have up your sleeve!
I LOVE your slipcovers !!!
I do sew and have a machine, and I do want to sew some covers, but I just have been too lazy !!!!

Cindy, your living room is SO warm, cozy and inviting. A wonderful place to sit, relax and enjoy...especially with Winter still on your doorstep. I'll stay indoors and work on a needle project or something and you can go ice skating! LOL

I am really kicking myself when I look at your beautiful chairs. We got rid of a furniture set here about 4 years ago and part of it was a wing chair which we loved, but it was old & stained. We should have kept it and I should have slip-covered it to put in our bedroom! Darn! Yours look so beautiful Cindy! Angie xo
